My Virtual Therapy Room
As a dedicated psychologist I reach out to children and adolescents for whom it is safe to provide Telehealth psychological sessions, for conveniency, comfort or accessibility. These sessions can be accessed by clicking on your personalised video link at the day and time of the appointment. Some children access these appointments from a private room at school, or from the safety of their bedroom after school. Others prefer to talk while they walk around their backyard, lie in their special place, or simply sitting at their desk. Together, we will work towards achieving your child's goals and fostering their growth and well-being.

Psychology can help autistic children develop skills to navigate everyday challenges, understand their emotions, build confidence and improve their overall wellbeing.
Depending on your child's individual needs, therapy may focus on emotional regulation, anxiety, social understanding, flexible thinking, self-esteem, sensory-related distress and coping with changes or transitions.
Our approach is neurodiversity-affirming, meaning we work with your child's strengths and individual differences rather than trying to change who they are.
-
The first appointment generally focuses on understanding your child's strengths, challenges, developmental history and current support needs.
Depending on your child's age and circumstances, the initial appointment may involve speaking primarily with parents or caregivers.
Together, we identify meaningful therapy goals and discuss how psychology can best support your child and family.
-
That's absolutely okay! We understand that children, particularly those with attention, sensory or regulation differences, may find it difficult to sit still for extended periods.
Sessions can be adapted to include movement breaks, games, drawing, visual activities and shorter periods of focused engagement.
If Telehealth doesn’t work for your child even with adapted movement breaks and visual activities or shorter periods, or if it becomes unsafe to complete sessions on Telehealth, we will consider together better suited options in your area.
Our goal is to create a supportive and flexible environment where your child can participate in ways that work for them.
-
Parent involvement is often an important part of effective therapy, particularly for younger children.
Depending on your child's age and needs, sessions may include direct work with your child, parent consultations or a combination of both.
Parent sessions can focus on understanding your child's behaviour, supporting emotional regulation, responding to anxiety and implementing helpful strategies at home.
-
Your child may be eligible for Medicare rebates if they have a valid referral and an appropriate Medicare-funded treatment plan from their GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist.
Eligibility, rebate amounts and session limits depend on the referral pathway and current Medicare requirements.
Families can also access psychology sessions privately without a Medicare referral.
-
Psychology services may be funded through your child's NDIS plan when the support is related to their disability, aligns with their plan and meets NDIS funding requirements.
We accept self-managed or plan managed NDIS clients.
