Comprehensive Psychological Assessments for Children, Teens & Adults

At The Thriving Bee Psychology, I offer warm, thorough, evidence-based assessments to help children, teenagers, and adults better understand their strengths, challenges, and support needs. Each assessment is tailored, trauma-informed, and designed to provide clarity, direction, and a practical plan for moving forward.

Whether you are seeking answers about cognitive strengths and difficulties, learning, behaviour, attention, or emotional wellbeing, I provide assessments that are compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming, and grounded in best-practice.

What I Assess

Cognitive / IQ Assessments

For understanding cognitive strengths, difficulties, intellectual disabilities, learning potential, and problem-solving style. These assessments can assist with enrichment planning, identifying giftedness, or clarifying areas of difficulty.

Learning & Academic Achievement Assessments

Used to identify dyslexia, dysgraphia, learning disorders, and academic achievement needs. Results help guide school supports, tutoring plans, and adjustments.

ADHD & Executive Functioning Assessments

Comprehensive assessment of attention, working memory, emotional regulation, inhibition, impulsivity, and organisational skills. Findings support diagnostic clarification, school accommodations, and tailored intervention planning.

Adaptive Functioning Assessments

Assessment of everyday living skills, communication, social functioning, and independence.

Emotional & Behavioural Mental Health Assessments

Assessing anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, behaviour concerns, and emotional regulation using child-friendly, evidence-based tools. Helps guide therapy and school recommendations.

Sensory Processing Assessments

Understanding sensory sensitivities, sensory-based feeding challenges (including ARFID), autism-related sensory profiles, or sensory contributions to behaviour.

Eating Disorder & Body Image Assessments

Specialised assessments for ARFID, anorexia, binge eating, feeding difficulties, and body image concerns for both children and adults. Includes tools such as the EDE-Q, CIA-3.0, BIAQ, and sensory-based feeding profiles.

Mental Health Diagnostic Assessments

Comprehensive evaluation of presenting symptoms to clarify mental health diagnoses, guide treatment planning, and support communication with GPs, paediatricians, or psychiatrists.

What to Expect

Each assessment is supportive, structured, and personalised. While the exact process varies by assessment type, most include:
• A parent or individual intake session
• Standardised testing sessions (typically 1–3 appointments)
• Questionnaires for parents, teachers, or caregivers
• A full written report with clear recommendations
• A feedback session to walk through results, answer questions, and discuss next steps

All assessments are conducted in a calm, child-friendly environment and guided by evidence-based practice.
